To Trevor's house

Kevra, Jordon and I took a 4 day trip to CA to see Trevor, Jessica and Shad.  They moved there in September and we went to spend a little of our October break from school.

It took about 6 hours to get there, pretty easy trip, mostly freeway.  We got there Saturday night and helped them get ready for Shad's birthday the next day.  Jessica had the theme of Elmo and friends.  Shad LOVES Elmo, so he was to be delighted.  She made some adorable cupcakes and cake, a banner she printed (I strung, my one, small contribution.  That and chasing across the yard to catch the balloons before they blew away.  That was a sight to see, I don't do run.)  Trevor strung ballons across the living room too.
The birthday boy!

Shad loved it all and was a happy trooper all day.  We went to Stake  Conf then home for lunch and gifts.

Shad got a card from his Aunt Cathy that sang the Toy Story song. (he loves Toy Story) and the expression on his face when he opened it was priceless.  Trevor caught it on camera.

The missionaries joined us later for hot dogs and hamburgers and cake.  We ate outside cuz it was so beautiful.  Their house is really nice, a great fit for them.

Monday we went to the San Diego Zoo.  I have never been, so was happy to go.  We did not see it all, but saw giraffes (Shad's favorite), rhinos, elephants, birds, snakes, bears.  Of course, the  highlight was getting to see the kualas and pandas.  Both were super cute.  We also rode the sky tram and took a bus tour at the end.  They got a membership so they can go back again and again.  It was a lovely day, exhausting, but really nice.  I highly recommend it, if you have never been.
There were about 12 of them, all asleep.

Lunch time, mmmm bamboo.
Shad's favorite.  There were 2 babies too, super cute.

Do you spy the panda?

After the zoo, Trevor showed us where his ship is that he works on.  I had no idea there were so many ships docked there and they are huge.  We went out for Mexican food at Old Towne then headed back home.  We left the next morning so we could get Kevra home in time to work.

We appreciate them having us.  It was my first visit to one of my children's homes.  Entering a new phase of life.  Thanks T & J.
