In the cool pines...

We decided to end the summer as we had begun over Memorial Day and went camping with family.  The trip up was awful, traffic was backed up to Rye to get into Payson.  We stopped at the Sonic by the casino to see if the traffic would thin at all while we ate.  It did some.  That was the worst part of the weekend, all else was lovely.  We camped at Ponderosa campground.  My parents, Sterling's sister and hubby, Trevor and Jessica and Shad, and us-that was the group.  The weather was a little warm, but fine in the shade.  We played games, read, ate yummy food, went for a hike up on the rim, loved watching the many faces of Shad, did the campfire things and really had a nice relaxing couple of day.  We ended up leaving Sunday night around 9pm to try and beat the traffic of Monday.  I won't go again over Labor day, but we found a neat place to camp on the rim that I had never seen before. (apparently Miles and Mullenauxs already know about it)  We may try and go again in October, we'll see if it fits the schedule.  I just love getting outdoors, especially after being cooped up all summer from the heat, it is so nice to be outside, enjoying this beautiful world we live in.
The group that went hiking, my parents didn't go.
(I took off my ball cap for the picture, should have left it on.)
Two of my most favorite people in the world-Trevor and Jessica, so cute.
John and Annabel and Bella their really big dog.
My Dad, Jerry.
My mom, Renee.  Both are 79 years old.
Neat little trailer at the campground, called a teardrop trailer.  I have seen them online, very cool.  The man made this himself, just from looking at the pictures.
My number one son and his number one son.
Trevor hikes with Shad frequently, so he is happy in the backpack,
sucking away on the camelbak.
The two great kids I still have at home. (notice Jordon is almost as tall as Kevra)
One of the many faces of Shad, munching on something.
He especially liked the twigs and pine needles.
Three of my most favorite people in the world, on the rim.
The hike along the rim is easy and beautiful.

It looks like such a fun weekend. We keep saying we need to go camping before the weather gets too cold. You always seem to get such great vacation pictures.
